DESCRIPTION:The DRI Conference is coming to Pennsylvania in October.  Pennsylvania Defense Institute and Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel will co-host a CLE and Social to kick off the DRI Annual Conference on October 26\, 2022 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown\, 1201 Market Street\, Philadelphia\, PA  The CLE portion of the program is entitled “Supreme Court of Pennsylvania at 300 years: From British Rule to Judicial Federalism”. 1 substantive CLE Credit. \nThe Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is the oldest continuously operating appellate court in the Western Hemisphere.  Topics explored by the panel wil include the Court’s beginnings in 1684 as the Provincial Court established by William Penn\, The statutory establishment of the Supreme Court in May 1722\, the relevance for statehood\, and the Court’s contributions to the development of American Law and principles of judicial federalism. \nThe CLE Panel includes: Moderator – Kenneth S. Butensky\, Esquire\, Chief Deputy City Solicitor\, City of Philadelphia; Panel Members – Charles “Chip” Becker\, Esquire\, Kline & Specter\, P.C.; Craig Green Esquire\, Ph.D.\, Professor of Law\, Temple University School of Law; and John J. Hare\, Esquire\, Marshall\, Dennehey\, Warner\, Coleman & Goggin. \nThe CLE will begin at 4:00 p.m. immediately followed by a social hour at 5:00 p.m.  Registrants at this event are invited to attend DRI’s Welcome Reception from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. \nWatch for more information. \n
