PDI WESTERN DISTRICT HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CLE AND CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

The Officers and Directors of the PDI Western District successfully held a CLE/Cornhole Tournament on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.  Special thanks goes out to Stuart Sostman, Esquire of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman and Goggin, and Dan Twilla, Esquire of Burns White for taking the lead in organizing and holding this outstanding event.

The CLE portion of the event was held at the Union Trust Building, 501 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Exponent, a PDI sponsor, had provided Dr. Adam Dershowitz to present a discussion

regarding “Drone Use – Risk Reward”.  Dr. Dershowitz discussed the growing use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, aka “Drones”.  Drone usage ranges from huge military equipment to toys.  They are being used by farmers and film makers.   Dr. Dershowitz discussed the use of Drones and hot to operate them safely and legally under the current regulations.  He even did a flight demonstration in the classroom.  He also pointed out the risks involved in the UAV operations.

The CLE was immediately followed by a social and Cornhole Tournament at Southern Tier Brewing in Pittsburgh, in the shadows of the stadiums.  There were 8 teams entered in the tournament, which provided an exciting and competitive event that was ultimately won by Brad Haas, Esquire and Greg Graham, Esquire, both of Marshall, Dennehey Warner, Coleman & Goggin.  The winners agreed to appear at the PDI Annual Conference and 50th Anniversary Celebration at Omni Bedford Springs Resort to tak on the other District Champions.
